T022DVD SBB SOB Lucerne Station (REOS production)
T022DVD
At the western end of the xVierwaltstatterseex, lies the town of Luzern. Following a fire in 1971, there stands only a stone arch of the original station building which is situated in the new station concourse. Luzern is a terminus station. Standard gauge trains of the SBB and SOB together with the metre gauge trains of the SBB Brünig and Luzern-Stans-Engelberg Bahn (LSE), share the station platforms and approaches. Modern rolling stock, of types EW IV and IC 2000, are pushed or pulled by Class Re 460 locos. Luckily the trains over the Gotthard are still loco hauled and provide extra loco changes in the station. The uncoupling is a noisy procedure at the head of the platform. Many trains are witnessed arriving and departing, you can xfeelx the atmosphere on the platform, see the LSE and Brünig trains climb up into the city, see views stretching over the station concourse and lake and witness various advertising liveries worn by the locomotives. We finish our visit with a winter impression . Recordings have been made in the summer of 2000, and the winter of 2001. We only use original sound recordings, without any spoken commentary or music. Running time approximately: 52 minutes. REOS production. NTSC USA/CANADA/JAPAN standard.
